Mr. Leftwich, a member of Ajubita, Leftwich & Salzer, L.L.C., received his law degree from Loyola University in 1977 and was a member of the Loyola Law Review. He received his LL.M., Masters in Taxation, from Boston University in 1978. Mr. Leftwich is a Board Certified Tax Specialist, Louisiana Board of Legal Specialization. His practice is focused primarily in commercial law, with an emphasis in federal and state income taxation. His practice includes all aspects of state and federal tax law as well as corporate and business law and real estate transactions. He handles a wide variety of commercial transactions, including the merger, acquisition and disposition of regional and national companies. Mr. Leftwich’s practice also includes representing clients before the Internal Revenue Service. Mr. Leftwich is a Board Certified Estate Planning and Administration Specialist, Louisiana Board of Legal Specialization and has an extensive estate planning and succession law practice.
Mr. Leftwich is an adjunct professor at Loyola University New Orleans College of Law where he teaches taxation of pass through entities.
Mr. Leftwich has spoken before various business organizations, including certified public accountants and certified financial planners, which topics included federal income taxation.
Mr. Leftwich received a B.B.A. in accounting from Loyola University and graduated magna cum laude in 1974. He is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association (Member, Taxation Section) and the New Orleans Bar Association. He was admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Eastern District of Louisiana in 1978 and the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals in 1981.
Mr. Leftwich has been listed as a Louisiana Super Lawyer in every year from 2008-2017 and has been awarded the highest rating by Martindale Hubbell.
